Chapel FM is a thriving Arts Centre with lots going on and lots of people coming to take part in any of our courses or to see our events. But this all comes at a time when there are still big cuts in public funding. For example we are supported by the Arts Council, but in the last round of funding we were put on a stand-still; which will mean that by 2022 we will be on the same cash amount as we were in 2008—14 years of ever-reducing support.
So it is even more important for us when people and groups decide to make a donation, however small. But in this case it was a big one. Christ Church in Halton presented a cheque for £1000 to Chapel FM in May.
We will be using the money to support our work with young musicians and we decided to take a few of our lovely young performers over to Christ Church to say thank you in song! They have recently formed a band, Between the Lines, and they played a couple of songs they have written and worked on together…which seemed to go down pretty well!
So thank you once again to Christ Church.
