JOB POSTING: COMMUNITY ARTS WORKER (BROADCASTING)

WITH CHAPEL FM ARTS CENTRE

Chapel FM Arts Centre (a project of Heads Together Productions) is searching for a Community Arts Worker (Broadcasting) to develop participation programmes for young people and adults from our community who are excited to learn about creating radio shows, podcasts and other audio projects.

The role also includes overseeing shows on our bustling community radio station, East Leeds FM, as well as other audio and podcasting projects with members of our community and organisations in the wider world.

We are especially seeking candidates with experience of facilitating / teaching in participatory, community arts situations, particularly with young people from under-resourced areas such as our home community of Seacroft in East Leeds.  In addition, experience with journalism, audio storytelling, editing sound, and collaborating with creators in other art forms (music, writing, theatre, food) is helpful.

We encourage candidates to sample some of our recent radio and mixed arts programmes, especially our new podcast Red Kite, which explores how young people from the North see and hear the world in unexpected ways. Those programmes can be found here: www.chapelfm.co.uk.

This post is full-time (35 hours/week) and is offered on a salary scale between £19,380 and £25,840 (with starting salary depending on previous experience).

We are also open to arranging a job share, so candidates with other freelance work or an existing part-time job are welcome to apply. Please note in your application if you are open to or have a preference for a job share.
