Chapel FM Jazz Collective presents…
Fri 1st Dec '17, 7:30pm
The Chapel FM Jazz Collective is a brand new, exciting, high-energy big band. But not a typical big band jazz group though—they play a wide range of music from across the jazz spectrum.
In the footsteps of Bowie and creating live scores for classic cinema clips. We welcome "one of Europe's most distinguished new music ensembles"

We are really pleased to welcome the Delta Saxaphone Quartet to Chapel FM as part of the international tour for two of their most recent musical projects: Bowie, Berlin & Beyond + Project Flicks.
"One of Europe's most distinguished new music ensembles" The Guardian
Following explorations of Soft Machine and King Crimson, the latest project from the Delta Saxophone Quartet follows in the imaginary footsteps of David Bowie and his Berlin Years. The music explores and re-visits the period when Bowie experimented with the ambient world of Brian Eno, free improvisation, and the minimalist works of the classical composer, Philip Glass
Project Flicks presents a selection of short films accompanied by music performed live by DSQ. The International films chosen cover a wide period of classic cinema, from the early black and white movies, newsreel footage from the ‘Prelinger Archives’, an Oscar winning Parisian classic, and a brand new commission from Australia, based on the relationship of ‘Brian & Banksy’ (a budgie and a dog!).
Through the ‘prism’ of live film, the DSQ has commissioned new scores which will engage, enthral and delight, opening up a freshness of discovery for inquisitive minds from age 8 to 108.
Featuring Christian Foreshaw, Pete Whyman, Tim Holmes and Chris Caldwell.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Parking is very limited at the Centre but there are plenty of options and good public transport links—http://www.chapelfm.co.uk/contact/
And how much does it cost?
We try to keep all our events at Chapel FM as cheap and accessible as possible. This is a Pay-what-you-can gig for anyone in our local area—LS9, LS14, LS15... We like to make as many as our events at Chapel FM truly affordable so we ask you to decide what you can afford to contribute £2, £5, £8... We won't take any money upfront but you can reserve yourself a ticket through eventbrite and then make your contribution on the door on the night.
If you are coming from outside the area then we ask you to pay £8 for a ticket upfront and £5 for concessions (which is still cheaper than any other venues that DSQ are playing on their current tour!)
Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?
You can always give Chapel FM a call on 0113 22 55 944
