As part of Chapel FM's contribution to Leeds Lit Fest, we present an evening dedicated to women and words. This live broadcast event runs in two parts. You are welcome to join us in the studio audience for one or both parts in the beautiful Chapel FM Radio Theatre...

TALKING ABOUT THE VOICE. 6.30-7.45pm.

In celebration of International Women’s Day, five women talk about the physical and metaphorical voice: losing it, finding it, using it. With Becky Cherriman (writer/performer), Louise Gibbs (singer), Khadijah Ibrahiim (poet/theatre maker), and Jane Oakshott (performance coach). Chaired by Peg Alexander.

WORDY WOMEN. 8.00 – 9.30pm.

A panoply of female poets perform their work upstairs in Chapel FM’s atmospheric radio theatre, hosted by Khadijah Ibrahim; featuring Helen Burke, Becky Cherriman, Jane Kite, and Gaia Holmes.

 FAQs

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Parking is very limited at the Centre but there are plenty of options and good public transport links—http://www.chapelfm.co.uk/contact/

And how much does it cost?
We try to keep all our events at Chapel FM as cheap and accessible as possible. This is a Pay-what-you-can gig. We like to make as many as our events at Chapel FM truly affordable so we ask you to decide what you can afford to contribute £2, £5, £8... We won't take any money upfront but you can reserve yourself a ticket through eventbrite and then make your contribution on the door on the night. All moneys raised goes towards supporting our creative work at Chapel FM.

Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?
You can always give Chapel FM a call on 0113 22 55 944
