Join us for the world premiere of a radio drama written by ELFM Radio host Roger Godden (Backtrack) “A Fit Person To Be Detained” illustrates the shadowy background of the Eugenics movement which propagated the incarceration in hospitals such as Meanwood Park, Leeds, of those considered unfit to procreate, the conditions under which they lived, and the hopelessness of their ambitions for liberty to live a normal life outside in society.
“A Fit Person to be Detained” was produced by veteran BBC radio drama studio manager and ELFM radio producer (From the Bandroom) Phil Driscoll and and features a cast of Leeds-based actors, many from Leeds Arts Centre.
“A Fit Person to be Detained” will also be broadcast on ELFM on Sunday, January 27 at 5pm.
