Chapel FM / East Leeds FM radio live at the Kirkgate Market this Saturday, February 15th

Later this spring (in May), while our home is being renovated, the Chapel FM Arts Centre will be taking up residency for six months in the Kirkgate Market, presenting live radio broadcasts, workshops, live events and working on special projects such as podcasts. As a preview of this residency, we’ll be doing a trial-run in our future Market home-away-from-home.

Leeds Repair Café is bringing together various like-minded people, groups and organisations for one giant fix-fest!

We are asking visitors to bring their broken items: clothes, IT stuff, toys, electricals, white goods, homeware, etc. on the day to be fixed by skilled volunteers.

The rationale is: it’s good to fix things rather than chuck them away; it’s good to learn new skills; and it’s good to save money!  Together with skilled volunteers and their tools, people then start making their repairs. People often learn new skills, and have a laugh too! If you have nothing to repair, you can enjoy a drink or snack, or you can lend a hand with someone else’s repair job.

Our vision is for locally-led repaire cafes in every community in our region – and we’re very happy to help advise / support people to make that happen wherever they are. So come down and be part of the Repair Revolution!
