Writing On Air is an on-air literature festival in which writers, readers, and wordos of all varieties get to create and air their own programmes to a local and global audience.
For four days this spring, Chapel FM Arts Centre hosts a raft of great writing from across Yorkshire, all broadcast through Chapel FM’s very own community radio station, East Leeds FM. You can find more information, listen live or listen again through this website.
With over fifty programmes, Writing On Air 2018 is the biggest yet. But it’s the scope of the material and the commitment of the contributors that really counts. This year’s festival takes the theme ‘Borderlands’ which resonates throughout the schedule in different ways.

Last year's Writing on Air festival involved around 200 local, regional, and international writers, readers, and performers. Apart from its being broadcast on the radio, what makes WOA distinctive as a literature festival is that all the programmes are conceived and created by writers and readers themselves.

Airs Tuesdays at 7.45pm week 2 of the month.
Each month The Deli team choose a theme and pick it apart, showcasing lots of words, writing and wonderful original work.
Our radio schedule works on a week 2 & week 4 basis. Week two begins on the second Tuesday of each month.
Airs every Tuesday at 4pm.
