Course details
Come join the Grey Ravens, an accessible group for young people aged 11-18 of all musical ability levels, wanting to develop their musicianship and ensemble skills whithin a band. The group is currently composed of two singers, piano, electric guitar, electric bass, drums, and flute. We also have a bunch of resident songwriters that help add put lyrics to our music and compose music as a collective.
The aim of the group is to develop songwriting, composition and ensemble skills by playing and creating music together. We work collaboratively with other like-minded young people, writing lyrics and performing their own songs on stage. We have quite a few opportunities to perform live throughout the year such as Musicathon and the Blue Owl Open Mic Night.
The Grey Ravens are Chapel FM’s own house band: whenever there is a live event on our radio like Home from Home, there’s a chance for the band to play like on our sessions on Wednesday! They also host their own Blue Owl Performance Loft – an open mic for under 25s, which takes place once per half-term in our lovely radio theatre where people can perform whatever they like wether it´s comady, a solo, magic, or even to play in a band.
Come on down, bring your instrument and a piece of music you know or would like to learn and we will work together to make it happen! We have sound equipment available including mics, guitar, bass amps, a drum kit and even an organ too.
