24th June 2012
As the splendour of the dawn fades and still the day has not yet begun… this is the time when the strong and the righteous show that they are willing to carry the music torch whatever the time of day!
6am Peter Spafford
As well as being ELFM’s very own director of words Peter is a playwright, poet and songwriter. With this in mind it’s easy to see why his songs are actually mini-stories that take you right into the heart of an experience. His work has been performed on radio and television, on the streets, in theatres, hospitals, prisons, and in the bath. Here he performs with the fabulous Richard Ormerod
6.30am Steve Bolton
An old friend of ELFM, Steve now regularly performs his own work. As a solo singer-songwriter he has even been known to organise his own Musicathons; raising money for a range of charities. An East Leeds resident, it’s always a pleasure having Steve perform.
7am Mr Gary C
Another favourite of ELFM and certainly a worthy hero, Gary is an accomplished singer/songwriter who always has a positive outlook on life and song…even at 7am on a Sunday!
7.30am Chris Selman
We first met Chris teaching music at a local high school and have seen his career really taking off in the last couple of years with much critical acclaim for his 2011 release “All or Nothing”. Full band or just on his own in front of a keyboard, he is always a joy to listen to.
8am King Courgette
Made up of a range of vegetable-based musicians: Poppa ‘King’ Courgette, String Bean Slim, Hot Chilli McGrath, Bad Apple ‘Two T’s’ Curtis and Zucchini Bill. No strangers to early morning ELFM Chapel appearances, they are only too happy to represent hoe-down country blues at this year’s Music Marathon 2012.
